Join us Wednesday, March 21 for a low-stakes creative hackathon. Demian Borba, Strategic Development Manager and Product Owner for Adobe XD, will run us through a quick demo of new Adobe XD features. Then, we’ll introduce a set of design challenges for you to choose from. Whether you’re intermediate or advanced with Adobe XD, we’ll have an appropriate challenge for you. While you prototype, Demian and Chris Griffith, our local Adobe XD expert, will offer advice tailored to the specific things you’re trying to do in the application.

About Demian Borba
Demian is a Product Manager for Adobe XD (formerly Project Comet) on the Creative Cloud team at Adobe. He is based in the company’s San Francisco office and has more than 16 years of experience with technology, interactive media, design, business, community engagement and training. Before Adobe, he worked as a Developer Advocate, first for BlackBerry and then Braintree/PayPal, traveling the world to engage with developers and startups. He also ran Action Creations, an interactive agency based in San Diego, designing and developing apps for clients including Oakley, 20th Century Fox, World Surf League, Nike and more. Demian is committed to the growth of new innovators, has taught design and programming at UCSD, as well as his own training programs focused on Design Thinking and mobile development, reaching hundreds of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs. Learning, empathy, innovation and technology drive his work and his personal life. In addition to being a software engineer focused on UX and Web technologies, Demian is a surfer, Design Thinker, and father.

Demian Borba, Product Manager at Adobe, came by to give us some insight into the design thinking process that Adobe used when creating their new prototyping tool: Adobe XD.
For this new product, Adobe wanted to ensure that its design came completely from the needs of the users, and not as an extension of their existing product line. In order to break the mold, they followed a simple but effective process to come up with their designs:
